Noscript + ABP. ABP set to block iframes. Noscript blocks XSS + no iframes = no vulnerabilites exploited.

IE8 gives better protection than other browsers, because of the SmartScreen Filter feature.

You need to make sure the filter is “ON” – or else the malware can slip past it. You can also help the SmartScreen Filter to perform better by reporting the unsafe website, thus helping keeping all users of IE8 to be safe….

Ive been using Internet explorer since forever until today…Ive just switched from Ie8 to firefox due to html virus in one of the webpages I visit daily. After installing firefox, I visit the “contaminated” webpage and the html virus is gone!!! Ive been having no problems accessing the webpage. Now, going back to ie8 being the “safest browser around”…

I think this is very true considering the fact that MS had mostly ignored Internet Explorer for better half of a decade (IE6 = FAIL).

Even as we speak, MS is developing Internet Explorer 9 which would be faster, more secure and adhering to web standards than ever before. Best part, they would support HTML 5 in IE 9.

Oh yes, competition is good for everyone.

Its really weird to see Internet Explorer giving the best results in protection against Malware, given the fact that it is known to have so many security holes. I always thought Firefox and Chrome are the most secure browsers.

I think I would browse risky sites in Internet Explorer, seems Microsoft has started focusing on the Browser market now that they are facing the heat of the competition.
