You can enable or disable notifications via the settings window. Many people prefer to keep the sound on, but if you can turn off sound by unchecking the “Sound On” checkbox.
You can also specify the time interval in which the software should check for new notifications. Since the time is in seconds if you want a 15 minute time interval, just enter 900 in the “Refresh Rate” box.
